El Balito is an area of the island of Tenerife with its own history. It belongs to the municipality of Adeje and is a few minutes from Marazul.
Formerly, it was a banana processing plant with its own dock where ships came to collect merchandise. Today the buildings are abandoned to their fate and the pier is only used by fishermen, bathers and divers.
El Balito is a place that only the natives know and, although access is not easy, when you arrive you can enjoy the views and the vastness of the ocean at your feet, you will feel like a real Guanche.
To get to El Balito take the TF-47 from Adeje towards Los Gigantes and take the exit Playa San Juan-Puerto Santiago-Los Gigantes.
Its an excellent site to pass the day walking with different hiking trails and perfect to snorkel or dive.

How is the diving in El Balito in Adeje?
Here we have the opportunity to do 2 dives.
Using the stairs on the right side we can make a dive to a depth of 30 metres. In this dive we can see great rock formations created long ago by the volcanic eruptions in the past. Also great stone arches can be found during this dive.. As we ascend we arrive at the other side of the wall.
The second dive we head towards the left where we can find caves and differing rock formations, This dive is perfect for macro and landscape photography where we have the amazing rock formations and differing sea-life.
- Fauna: morays , Black rays, Octopus, Barracudas, Anemonas, Nudibranches.
- Things to bear in mind: Sometimes we have large waves.at this location.
